Convocation: 104 college diplomas awarded
Graduates from USB's technical college.
Université de Saint-Boniface (USB) awarded 104 diplomas to graduates of its École technique et professionnelle (ETP) and the School of Nursing and Health Sciences (SNHS) at a convocation ceremony on Tuesday, June 11 at St. Boniface Cathedral.
Numerous award and medal recipients were also recognized at the event.
Awards and distinctions
Five graduates were presented with Medals of Excellence for achieving the highest average in their diploma or bachelor’s degree program.
Medals of Excellence:
- Business Administration: Geriol Bernel Tchinda Dahssi
- Multimedia Communications: Maxime Kornachuk
- Early Childhood Education: Alexandre Ambec
- Information Technology: Joel Demanou Tchinda
- Nursing: Chloé Simard
The Association of Regulated Nurses of Manitoba’s Medal of Excellence was also awarded to Chloé Simard (Bachelor of Nursing).
The Governor General’s Medal, awarded to a graduate with the highest standing in a post-secondary diploma or degree program, was presented to Alexandre Ambec.
Other awards were also presented based on criteria specific to each award.

- Paul Ruest Award: Alexandre Ambec (Early Childhood Education Diploma)
- Raymonde Gagné Award: Chloé Simard (Bachelor of Nursing)
Outstanding Contribution to Student Life:
- Alumni Network Award: Salem Lobo Muepu (Business Administration Diploma)
Community engagement award
Throughout her 40-year career as a business executive, Julie Tureen-Maynard has worked tirelessly to strengthen and promote the vitality of Manitoba’s Francophone community in a variety of sectors, from tourism and economic development to health care and social services.
Julie has always worked hard for causes she believes in, fuelled by her relentless drive and unflagging dedication. A respected pillar of the community, she is a model of professionalism and integrity. In recognition of her outstanding achievements, Université de Saint-Boniface (USB) awarded Julie Tureen-Maynard the Community Engagement Award, celebrating her positive impact on the community and the Francophonie.
The USB Community Engagement Award recognizes the work of individuals who have had a significant impact on the community and who have made an outstanding contribution to the Francophonie, while embodying USB’s institutional values.
