Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Vaccination Policy

In light of new public health measures, internal consultations, as well as the current situation observed at other establishments in Manitoba and in society in general, USB is suspending its Vaccination Policy.

The suspension of the COVID-19 Vaccination Policy took effect on May 1, 2022.

In the event of a significant increase in the risk of transmission, the policy could be reinstated.

USB continues to strongly encourage complete vaccination against COVID-19, including the booster shot (third dose), to help ensure the health and safety of members of the university community and their loved ones or visitors on campus who may be vulnerable.

Public Health Measures

The health and safety of the student population and personnel remains our priority and we recognize that individuals have different levels of comfort.

In light of the evolution of the pandemic in Manitoba, USB has instated a transition period from July 1 to August 31, 2022, during which masks will continue to be mandatory in classroom settings and in the Registrar’s Office.  In all other settings, however, the wearing of masks will be recommended.

As of September 1, 2022, masks will be recommended everywhere on campus, including in classroom settings and the in Registrar’s Office, but they will no longer be mandatory.

USB reserves the right to reinstate the mandatory wearing of masks and/or other restrictions in order to support public health and ensure a safe and secure environment for everyone on campus.

Yes. USB will offer three-ply medical masks. They are available at school entrances and other locations.

The following public health measures will remain in place:

  • three-ply medical masks provided on campus;
  • sanitizing products available for the personnel and student population to disinfect hands in common areas and disinfect surfaces in classrooms;
  • requirement to stay home in the event of a contagious illness;
  • recommendation to physically distance as much as possible.
