Types of Practicum
There are two types of practicums: the Regular Practicum and the Co-op Work Placement.
Regular Practicum
The Regular Practicum is unpaid and is compulsory for students at the end of their second year of study.
For the Business Administration, Tourism Management, and Multimedia Communications programs, the practicum lasts 5 weeks and normally extends from the beginning of May to the first week of June.
For the Information Technology program, the practicum lasts 9 weeks and normally takes place from the beginning of May on to the end of June.
Co-op Practicum
The Co-op Work Placement lasts 16 weeks. The student is paid by the employer and it is done at the end of the second year of study. To participate in the co-op work placement, students must submit a written application and meet certain selection criteria largely based on academic performance and skills.
This practicum normally extends from the beginning of May to approximately the third week of August.
