Anyone can learn to speak Spanish for professional or personal use!
This immersive program for beginner, intermediate, and advanced learners is taught in Spanish and supports gradual language learning in a relaxed setting. A conversation circle promoting group speaking practice is offered at the advanced level.
Overview
Our program uses Canadian course material developed by the Continuing Education Division and focuses on interactive activities. While exploring the many accents and expressions from different parts of the Spanish-speaking world, learners develop practical skills, such as introducing themselves, and placing an order and shopping. The focus is on speaking practice.
Designed for adult learners, the program offers eight courses from beginner to intermediate levels and one advanced-level conversation circle. Visit the page Exploramos juntos collection for the Spanish program for level and topic descriptions.
The conversation circle provides an opportunity to discuss various topics with peers at the same language level, guided by an experienced faculty member, in a relaxed atmosphere.
Designed for advanced learners, ESP-0403 Circulo de conversación is offered once a week in the evening for a total of 20 hours (2 hours/week for 10 weeks).
Cost: $212 (tax included)
Instructors
Our instructors are experienced individuals from diverse Spanish-speaking backgrounds who use an immersive teaching and learning approach. With Spanish as the language of instruction, learners develop concrete language skills through speaking practice and interaction with others.
A placement test is required if the learner’s level is not known at the time of registration. Simply select “unknown level” on the registration form, if applicable.
The placement test is not necessary if learners have no knowledge of the language they wish to learn. They can just choose ESP-0101 Español 1 when they register.
