Created to help French as a second language (FSL) teachers improve their teaching skills, the intensive French Immersion for Teachers (FIT) and program is an opportunity for participants to enhance their language skills, explore Francophone culture and discover new teaching resources.
The program is funded by the Government of Canada’s Official Languages in Education Program and the Bureau de l’éducation française.
Overview
This program is designed for Core French and French immersion teachers, as well as those preparing to teach French as a second language and school staff (educational assistants, library technicians, etc.), and it combines language training, sociocultural activities and the exploration of educational resources. The Canadian course materials feature vocabulary, grammar and communication strategies that reflect the local Francophone culture, and cover topics such as food, travel and health.
FIT covers two levels of the Conversational French program.
