No. USB is making every effort to reach an agreement to avoid a strike. At this time, a strike has not been confirmed.

Here is a list of college programs that will continue regardless of the outcome of negotiations with the APPUSB:

• Early Childhood Education Diploma
• Educational Assistant Certificate
• English as an Additional Language (non-credit courses) offered by the Language Enrichment Service: Anglais – Voie préparatoire I (AN 001i and ENGL 0011i), Anglais – Voie préparatoire II (AN 002i and ENGL 002i)
• Health Care Aide Certificate
• Information Technology Diploma
• Multimedia Communication Diploma
• Postgraduate Early Childhood Management Diploma
• Practical Nursing Diploma*
• Tourism Management Diploma

* These programs may include one or more university courses affected by a potential strike.

Additionally, all non-credit courses offered by the Continuing Education Division will also continue without interruption.

No. If you have accepted the admission offer, it is still valid.

Of course, you can still submit an application for admission to begin your studies in the winter term for several programs. Applications for admission for Fall 2026 will also be accepted from the beginning of October, as planned. It will not. A strike would not affect the number of credit hours you are enrolled in. Students will continue to receive their student loans as long as they maintain the number of credit hours they declared to their provincial loan agency.

It would not. A strike would not have any effect on your total course load. As long as you meet the scholarship or bursary requirements, including the minimum number of credit hours, you will remain eligible.

USB will continue to offer merit and financial aid scholarships, but deadlines may change. Check your USB email account and the Bourses page to stay up to date on any potential changes.

Yes! If there were a strike at USB, it would not affect your ability to enrol in university courses or to complete them. However, your university courses may be temporarily interrupted during the strike.

No. A possible strike would not prevent you from receiving your diploma, whether you are enrolled in a university or college program.

No. Non-credit courses offered by the Continuing Education Division would not be affected. No disruption is expected, regardless of how the situation develops.

Yes. Almost all services would operate as usual and without interruption. Please note, however, that the research assistance service offered by the Alfred Monnin Library would be reduced during a possible strike, as librarians are members of the APPUSB.

No. All sports programming will take place as planned: training, practices, matches, workshops, classes, etc. You would be in contact with the coordinators, coaches or instructors, as usual. Visit the Les Rouges website and find the Sportex hours of operation.

No. Anyone who is registered for courses will have access to the programming and will be able to participate fully in student life activities. We look forward to seeing you! Check out the student life schedule.

There should be almost no impact on your study permit. The important thing is to register for your courses at USB for the fall term, as normal. Rest assured that no academic or financial penalties will be imposed on you because of a strike. In addition, you will be able to request certificates and other official documents from the Registrar's Office, as usual.
