Let's Talk

Bell Let's Talk

On January 30, 2019, an entire day of activities will be taking place at Université de Saint‑Boniface (USB) for the national Bell Let’s Talk Day campaign.

This is the first time that USB has organized such a large event for this cause. USB’s doors will be wide open to students, staff and the community as a whole for this day dedicated to talking about mental health.

“The mental health of our students and staff is vital,” explained Christian Perron, USB’s Director of Student Services. “We are strongly committed to educating individuals on what they can do to maintain their well-being.”

From 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., the program will feature a wide variety of activities on different types of support, including mindfulness, animal therapy, personal reflection and artistic mediums. Kiosks and professionals will also be present in the Étienne Gaboury Student Centre to provide tools for better managing potential mental health issues.

Guest speaker Tania Tetrault Vrga will lead a discussion with participants from all walks of life entitled Pour l’amour de soi [Self-Love] over the lunch hour. As Christian Perron reminds us: "We should participate for ourselves, not for others.”

The activity schedule can be found in USB's online calendar (French only).

And, of course, the entire community is invited to participate in the Bell Let’s Talk campaign! On January 30, Bell will donate towards mental health initiatives in Canada by contributing five cents for each of the interactions described below. Participants will pay no additional fees beyond what they normally pay their service provider for Internet or telephone services.
