Historical Interpretation at Festival du Voyageur Branded USB

Fort Gibraltar

Université de Saint-Boniface is proud to support the Festival du Voyageur on its 50th anniversary by way of historical interpretation in Voyageur Park.

After three years of existence, the USB-sponsored tent will step aside to leave room for a new initiative. From February 15 to the 24, USB will lend its colours to the programming in Fort Gilbraltar.

“Historical interpretation is a perfect fit for USB, obviously due to its educational mandate, states Dominique Philibert, communications coordinator at the university. We’re very happy to back this project, especially because many of the Fort’s interpreters are USB students.”

For the occasion, the university called upon the Métis company Étchiboy to create tiny sashes (or ceintures fléchées) weaved to USB colour specifications, with the aim that they be used as bookmarks.

“To get their hands on one, festival-goers will have to answer all of the interpreters’ questions correctly!”, she says jokingly.
