A Food Bank For the Student Population

Université de Saint-Boniface (USB) officially opened its food bank on Wednesday, September 12, 2018. Henceforth, students of the university will have access to this new service, put into place precisely to help them.

Food hampers are already prepared and ready to be picked up by students in need. “Needless to say, the baskets contain non-perishable food, such as pasta, semolina and canned vegetables. They also include a toothbrush and toothpaste,” explained John Ferrer, President of the Food Bank Committee.

“Not only will the food bank be feeding students in need, but it will also allow them to reduce their workload so that they can more easily focus on their studies,” pointed out John Ferrer.

Students can request a food hamper by sending an email to cheznorma@monusb.ca. Committee members will then deliver the donations shortly thereafter.
