Break the Language Barrier

How do you order a meal in French? Do you need to shop, make reservations or talk about well-being in French? Our conversational French program, designed specifically for adults, can give you the skills you’re looking for.

Nine different levels of theme-based, interactive classes will help you learn vocabulary, sentence structure and pronunciation, as well as communication strategies and Francophone culture.

Dates

January 11 to March 26, 2020.

Schedule

The course runs once a week for 11 weeks, for a total of 33 hours.

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday evenings, or Saturday mornings.

$338.

Register by December 10, 2019, and save $40.

Course Content

Designed for adult learners, the curriculum covers the themes and subthemes most likely to arise in conversation and other oral interactions. Those with some existing French proficiency can join the program at the level determined by a placement interview. 

  • Beginner 1: Food

  • Beginner 3: The house and home
  • Beginner 4: Description of people and things
  • Inermediate 1: Travel
  • Intermediate 2: Leisure activities
  • Intermediate 3: The arts
  • Intermediate 4: Francophonie here and elsewhere

    • Well-being
    • From yesterday to tomorrow
    • The media
