Université de Saint-Boniface is located in the heart of Winnipeg’s green and quiet francophone neighbourhood. The campus is a stone’s throw away from many services, including cafés, restaurants and a hospital, and is brimming with activities for its student population.
The main building houses classrooms, two gymnasiums, the Sportex fitness centre, a library, a chapel, a student centre with a cafeteria, computer and science labs, two videoconference rooms, the campus radio station, a sound studio and an amphitheatre.
Inaugurated in 2011, the Pavillon Marcel-A.-Desautels houses the health sciences programs and the School of Social Work. Built at a cost of $11.5 million, this ultramodern building, covering an area of 25,000 square feet, includes 5 classrooms, 3 nursing science laboratories, 1 simulation center, 2 videoconference rooms and 27 offices. The Pavillon was rated Gold by the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) program in February 2013, confirming that the design, construction and use of the building meet high performance environmental standards.
Within walking distance of the Pavillon, students have access to a university residence of 58 apartments that are close to restaurants, shops, grocery stores and many activities the friendly French quarter of Winnipeg has to offer. This residence, named after Father Théophile Lavoie O.M.I., offers one or two bedroom apartments, as well as bachelor units. Living in residence enriches student life, allowing students to build lasting relationships while learning to share common spaces in a spirit of openness and respect.
