So you’ve decided to study at Université de Saint-Boniface? The first step is to submit an admissions application.

1. Choose your program

Select a desired program from the list.

Next, consult the Academic Calendar to learn more about the details of your program, general admission and registration requirements, as well as any other rules or requirements specific to your program.

 

2. Determine Your Student Status

 

Identify your student status, and if you are not a regular student, please let the Registrar’s Office know this when you submit your application. 


Regular student

A regular student is anyone who fits into one of the following three groups:

  1. An applicant admitted on the basis of general and specific requirements;
  2. A returning student who registers again after an absence of five years or less; or
  3. A student arriving from another university, who can transfer their credit-hours to Université de Saint-Boniface in order to complete an undergraduate degree.

Mature student

A mature student is one who:

  1. Has not completed high school;
  2. Has not studied at a postsecondary level in a recognized university or college;
  3. Is 21 years old or over (before September 30 for the full academic year, before January 31 for admission to the winter session and before May 1 for admission to Intersession);
  4. Is a Canadian citizen or permanent resident;
  5. Registers in order to be accepted into a program as a regular student after completing 24 credits; and
  6. Does not meet all the general admission requirements.

Mature students must submit:

  • An application form;
  • A birth certificate;
  • A marriage certificate (only for married women who have changed their last name).

Visiting student

A visiting student is one who is admitted to one or more courses to be credited to another institution.

Visiting students must meet all obligations and follow all regulations for examinations and voluntary withdrawals. They pay the same fees as regular students.

Auditing student

An auditing student is one admitted to one or more courses for which they will receive no credit. Their registration fees are reduced by half.

Written permission from the instructor is required in order to register for a course as an auditing student.

Special Student

A special student is one who has permission from the dean to register in one or more courses and who meets one or other of the following criteria:

  1. Holds an undergraduate degree from another faculty;
  2. Chooses one or more courses that cannot be applied towards a degree, diploma or certificate.

Special students must meet all obligations and follow all regulations for examinations and voluntary withdrawals. They pay the same fees as regular students.

Senior student

Persons 65 years old and over can register at no cost. They must submit a birth certificate.

Please send your application form, any required documents and non-refundable admission fees to the Registrar’s Office (Registrariat) at the address below, before the admissions deadline. Deadlines for applying vary from program to program.

Important:

A student from another university or post-secondary educational establishment must submit an academic transcript at the time of his or her application. For courses in progress, this document must be submitted as soon as the final grades are available. Students on probation or suspension from another university will not be admitted to Université de Saint-Boniface.

Université de Saint-Boniface communicates directly with the student in all matters pertaining to their application. If you wish to authorize USB to share information on your file with a third party, please submit the proxy form.

All documents submitted become the property of Université de Saint-Boniface and will not be returned to you. Documents from a North American institution must be the original copies. We recommend that documents from an institution outside of North America be certified copies that conform to the originals, for the original copies will not be returned to you. These documents are to be sent by postal service or delivered in person. Scanned and emailed copies of the documents will not be accepted.

If you do not register for courses at Université de Saint-Boniface, your admissions records including all supplied documents will be destroyed after two years.


 

Admission Fees

Admission fees must accompany your application and must be paid by one of the methods accepted by USB.

Your application will only be examined once admission fees have been received..
Please note that these fees are non-refundable.
